Rubbin` Butts Bar-B-Q in Cobleskill

Excellent variety for barbecue, very tasty and can even enjoy a beer with dinner if interested.

Food was good.. Little strange how its divided between dining area, bar and kitchen. If you want to have a drink.. Id say sit at the bar.. And be prepared to order your own food and pick it up from the kitchen.. No wait staff.. Just bartenders and they don't take anything but drink orders. Good craft beers..

Went in for a beer and bbq before we were able to order our beers from the brewery we were told across the room they were closing in 20 minutes. This was at 7. Supposedly open till 9. Out of 4 orders mine was forgotten and had the leftover fries from the others which was minimal compared to the others. Brisket was good in flavor but on top of a cold roll it brought the sandwich down. Cant say I'd eat here again but I'd go in for the good beers where they are located.

The appetizers we had we're really good. Having the Serious Brew with the restaurant is a fantastic idea. You can get delicious BBQ with a variety of local craft beers. Definitely a must stop when you're in the Cobleskill area.

Today we visited the Rubbin Butts Bar-B-Q venue/ Serious Brewery. The Brewery was WONDERFUL! The father son duo behind the bar were MORE than accommodating! Gave us samples and were pleasant and welcoming. However...the man behind the counter at the Rubbin Butts counter was dirty, unpleasant and RUDE! Claimed our food was ready “a long time” and we hadn’t heard him, but seemed to shout everyone else’s name. This venue is small and personal which we found very homey until dealing with this individual. I will most definitely be returning to the Brewery but will NOT be giving anymore money to Rubbin Butts.

I really enjoyed it. The food was good.

Service was terrible, the pulled pork was over cooked, flavorless, and dry. Same with the brisket. Very overpriced for what you get. Definitely will not be going back here ever again.

Food was okay, pretty pricey. Not particularly comfortable seating on the tall stools. Would not go again.

Visiting from out of town. We had a great experience! Nice staff, delicious food, and good drinks. The name and outside appearance can be deceiving but it was nice, cozy, and clean inside. Would definitely recommend to a friend.

Ribs were delicious fell right off the bone losts of taste the best part is there is a microbrewery in the same building its a must stop place ... highly recommended

I am in the area for a wedding and drove passed this place. Figured why not, I didn't do my due diligence and check reviews. My fiance and I walked in to an empty restaurant except for two guys sitting at the bar watching cops. I started chatting up the owner about the brewery because I was excited to try a beer. No license. Ok well that sucks. How about some food? My fiancee got wings with blue cheese and mac salad. I got the smoked turkey, ribs, and pork belly came with a piece of corn and corn muffin. Ordered a side of sweet potato fries. The turkey was good but a little dry, the ribs and bbq sauce were sub sub par, and the pork belly, while tender, was bland and just not worth it. Don't bother with this place, those 5 star reviews......I wouldn't trust them.

I have had amazing food here and I have had OK food here. The loaded bbq fries are my favorite... fries with bacon, bbq sauce, cheese and brisket or pulled pork, yum! I've had the pulled pork and ribs combo meal, I wish the ribs had been cooked longer. They weren't crispy and didn't fall off the bone as you'd expect from a bbq joint, the pulled pork was ok but had a grease mess under it and no real flavor, the bbq sauce definitely helped it! The mac and cheese I was told was homemade, however tasted just like noodles and Velveeta, very disappointing. Also had the pulled pork topped burger with coleslaw in the past, a delicious dish! Burger is your average burger, but everything else kicks it up a notch. I also love that they have outside, dog friendly seating!

The brisket was just amazing! Their prices are average and the dining area just had a few tables and chairs....very unassuming. But do not let the décor put you off! The food is absolutely divine! The brisket was perfectly seasoned and sliced like bacon and it just melted in your mouth

Food was 4/5 but the cashier was fun. The pork belly was phenomenal. Modern jukebox gave me the nostalgia and atmosphere I loved. Would visit again.

Reuben and fresh fries were absolutely delicious. Brewery owner was friendly. Definitely going back. Also, great prices.

We Arrived and no one was eating there and the staff was sitting outside smoking, go inside and it stunk like mold. People working there had a terrible attitude. The food was horrible. We had the food to go and we got home 10 minutes later and the potatoes were ice cold like they just came out of the refrigerator. The chicken wasn't cooked had blood running out of it! Coleslaw tasted sour and the cabbage was wilted. Best $30 I ever Spent. DON'T EAT THERE!!!! I Do my best to support local small businesses But I WILL NOT support them.

This place was awesome and such an upgrade from their previous location. Great selection of beers from local breweries. Cozy atmosphere and great food. Only downside was the aggressive flies in the dining room.

There were 18 people in the building and that might have included employees. They told us we had to wait 10 minutes to place an order. Think about that a moment. 10 minutes before they would even take our order. Needless to say I have no idea whether their food is good or bad because we didn't stick around and we don't plan on going back to find out. It's probably all for the best because the prices seemed a little bit high for the size of the portions that we saw served to the two people who actually had food. And in case anyone is wondering... This is the worst preview I ever gave any place.

Boss hog sandwich was on 3 day old bread. I could taste the freezer on the onion ring. Pork itself was ok, not stand out. Spicy BBQ sauce was good. Bbq salad was very weak. Less than 1/4lb of meat on $12 salad. The rest of the salad was cheep greens and tomato. Cardboard fries. Chicken tenders are actually frozen chicken nuggets. Gets the job done if you need something to eat while drinking at the brewery, but not worth a stop on its own.

Once was a great BBQ place.I have been to Rubbin Butts several times since they opened and it was always excellent. I recently went back and noticed the ribs were awful this time. The ribs were over boiled leaving a funny outside texture and dry meat inside. They did not pull off the bone. My wife had the chicken and it wasn't bad but not as good as the last time we were there. I knew the owner started 2 restaurants and quickly sold one. I inquired if he still owned the Cobleskill restaurant and was told it was sold about a year ago. Ribs were the worst I've ever had in a restaurant.Pulled pork was pretty good.Chicken was average.Sides were average.Most of the reviews are from more than a year and are for a completely different restaurant.

Craft Beer & local wines are great. Food which is a separate business is not good. Tried it on a couple occasions. Brisket is very dry and rubbery, all pre-made (days in advance) and reheated. Appetizers frozen and fried.

Yummy BBQ. It’s attached to a brewpub so no table service, just counter service. Big portions, reasonable prices, quality Que. the pulled pork nachos were bigger than my 15 year old’s head.

If your craving bbq this is the place to go. Same building there's also the Seriously Brewing Company for the thirsty.

Delicious food. An excellent place to stop by. I went with the pulled pork texas with hickory red bbq sauce. Amazing.

The bread was cold. The meat was Luke warm. The fries were kinda soggy. Some of the meat was old. The lady at the register had no idea what she was doing. The chili is canned and the potion sizes are small. All the food is reheated.Update... Still bad. The hush puppies were dough in the middle. She just dropped them back into the fryer until they were burnt, including the half eaten ones. We got bone in wings instead if the boneless wings we ordered. She said oh sorry I didn't know took the bone in wings and made new wings with barely any sauce on them. The hush puppies were gross. The pork belly was decent and the fried pickles are good.

No flavor, frozen, pre cooked ,it was cold, looked disgusting, and they ripped us off. The side salad was a hand full of lettuce in a tiny plate. THE WORST FOOD I’VE EVER HAD

Only giving one star because ZERO isn't an option. Absolutely disgusting. Fries are drenched in grease and masked by an over abundance of salt. Burger was raw and had ingredients that were forgotten. Fish was dripping in grease and soggy. Guy that greeted us seemed nice but everyone else was filled with attitude and an obvious need to go home. Pulled pork was all fat, barely any meat and definitely not BBQ. Corn on the cob was dry and waxy and we ended up throwing away most of our meals. Seriously wishing I could throw up the bites I was able to eat... NEVER AGAIN.

I’m from the south so I may be partial but. Pulled pork was soggy and ....awful. Brisket was. Ok. Ribs were terrible. Mac n cheese was dry noodles. The service was nice. Not sure this can be defined as bbq. It’s more or less oven cooked or crock pot and it’s really gross. I fed my 18 dollar meal to my dog because I felt rude throwing it away right in their face. I’ve never left a 1 Star review. I only leave 5 stars but. This was worth noting as just plain awful. Especially for the price.

Decent BBQ. Tenderness a little off.Ordered brisket, pork belly, and sausage 3 meat plate with mac and cheese and hush puppies.Everything tasted good, but was a little dry or tough (just a nit pick). I would eat there again.

Baked beans was sweet but very tasty with bits of shredded pork. Sweet potato fries were crisp, on the skinny side but also good. Brisket sandwich on marbled rye was also very good, but fries it came with were soggy. House salad was a big portion, covered an entire lunch plate. It was not crowded when we went around 2:30pm, got our food in about 10 minutes.

Food was very tasty and good size portions.

Myself and 4 friends stopped in during bike week expecting the restaurant to be packed but it wasn’t. The food was great and our server was polite and had our food delivered quickly. The prices were a bit high but the food was amazing and we don’t mind paying for good food. If it’s a nice day I highly recommend taking your food outside, they have a beautiful view of the lake and mountains.

The food is "okay" but the "signature corn muffins" are horrible and do not resemble or taste like any corn muffin that I have ever eaten.

Wow. Amazing!!! If you want the best pork belly, the best pulled pork, the best ribs, the best brisket,...........so on and so on!!! The Cole slaw- awesome. The potato salad- real good. The sweet potato fries- real good. Their homemade bbq sauces, and Carolina sauce are CRAZY good. We drive all the way from Schenectady to Cobleskill for this food!!!! Love, love, love. The cook/only staff working had an additude. I asked him what he would recommend he muttered well everything is good. I just decided to order something for my husband...Due to his answer. When my husband went to eat, he almost cried when he discovered his half rack of ribs was shrink wrapped! It was a sad, boiled, no flavor, no smoke, no sauce half rack of ribs! If you love BBQ stay away...FAR AWAY!

Not good food at all. The side of corn looked and tasted like it was 2 or 3 days old. The food was lukewarm. Fries were lukewarm and looked and tasted like leftovers, not even cooked fresh. Meat had no flavor, thank goodness there was decent sauces to drench it in. I was extremely disappointed and for 45 dollars for 2 meals felt like I got ripped off. Fast food tastes better than this and I don't like fast food. If you know good food don't not even bother eating here, it is just not worth it.

Holy guacamole! This place is amazing. At first we thought it might be overpriced for cafeteria style dining, but it was worth every penny! I have dreams about that delicious brisket 💗
